A self-storage company is helping raise awareness for a London-based charity dedicated to fighting hunger and reducing food waste. Vanguard Self Storage is leveraging its West London branch for a unique collaboration and public display of support by showcasing one of The Felix Project’s iconic vans on its rooftop.
Visible from the A40, this eye-catching installation aims to increase awareness of the charity’s crucial work throughout London and in turn help more people understand the need for food support in the capital. The Felix Project rescues high quality surplus produce from the food industry and delivers more than 104,000 nutritious meals daily to those in-need across the city.
Will McCullagh, Managing Director of Vanguard Self Storage, commented, “As a family-run business with a long and established history in the capital, we are committed to supporting our local communities. We have worked and supported The Felix Project previously, so we are proud to come together again to inform others about its vital work. We hope our joint initiative encourages the public and food businesses to support this important cause.”
Tanya Mitchell, Director of Income Generation and Marketing from The Felix Project, stated, "At a time when one in four working Londoners are regularly struggling to afford to feed their families and around 182,000 are living on less than £3 a day to cover their food, partnerships like this one with Vanguard Self Storage showcase the strength of community collaboration. The visible support will enhance our efforts and hopefully inspire more people to support The Felix Project and help to make a positive impact in the fight against hunger.”
The installation will remain in place until early Spring, maximising its impact over the colder, more challenging winter months.
